A<Festival: festival of city creators
The theme of A<FESTIVAL 2023 revolved around the concept of neighborhood, exploring the tension between what is familiar and comfortable and what we choose to ignore or reject. The events offered a diverse range of experiences, from films capturing the essence of London's everyday life, to streetcar tours, urban workshops, thought-provoking discussions, nomadic social actions, interactive performances, and intimate music events.
My goal was to create a design system that could be adapted for future editions of the festival. I developed clean layouts that harmonize typography and imagery within a grid system, ensuring versatility across various social media formats, with space reserved for each edition’s unique visual theme.
This year's key visual drew inspiration from the vernacular typography seen on local signboards in our neighborhoods, bringing a touch of the familiar to the festival's identity.
